Miljan Mikić

Dr. Miljan Mikić, B.Sc. constr. Eng. is an assistant professor at the University of Leeds (UK), where since 2017 he has been teaching engineering management, business strategy, business planning, project management and human resource management in the master’s program.
He received his PhD in 2015, at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade, in the field of risk management on capital investment projects, where he was also hired as an assistant professor at the Department of Project Management.
Biography
Miljan is the director and founder of the start-up and platform for digitalization of the construction industry OROOK.net, as well as a consultant with 15 years of experience in the implementation of complex investment projects.
In his career so far, he has participated in strategic planning on behalf of institutional investors, consulting and construction companies such as the EIB (European Investment Bank), Grant Thornton Slovenia, Grant Thorton UK, CPM Consulting, MBT Concept, Alpine Bau (Austria), CPI (Russia). and managing the implementation of several infrastructure, industrial, residential, business and tourism projects in Serbia, Montenegro, Russia, Georgia, Austria and the United Kingdom.
Miljan’s list of reference projects includes the Petrochemical Complex of Surgutneftgaz in Kirishi (Russia), the reconstruction of the smelter and sulfuric acid factory in RTB Bor, several sections of highways in Serbia and Georgia, the tourist complex “Smokvica Bay” (Montenegro) and more residential and business complexes in Serbia. In the period from 2008 to 2012. participated in the development and implementation of the ERP software package “Pharaoh” in over 20 companies in the construction and engineering industries.
He is a member of the Supervisory Board of BIM Serbia, as well as several committees of scientific research projects of the European Union (eg MEGA PROJECTS: Effective planning and implementation of mega projects in the European Union, and “Sustainability Reformulation in Regenerative Economy”).
Dr. Mikić has published more than 30 papers in international and domestic journals and scientific conferences, and as a passionate lecturer he has created and successfully implemented several practical trainings and courses for the National Agency for Regional Development, EU Build, NIS, Chamber of Engineers, as well as open and in-house trainings for companies in Montenegro, BiH and Russia.
He was a guest lecturer at the Aegean University in Athens.
He speaks English, German and Russian.
Miljan is married and is the proud father of two boys.
